Cicily and Chaney held their vintage wedding at a beautiful garden in downtown Fredericksburg. They came to Happy to Be Events for event management at the end of their wedding planning. They planned a beautiful wedding for their closest family and friends, coming all the way down from Maryland to the sleepy little town of Fredericksburg. These two met while working together in law enforcement, and their love for each other and deep compassion was so easy to see on the wedding day and throughout our planning process.
We worked with Cicily leading up to the wedding day and were absolutely blown away at her sincerity and kindness! Every detail held meaning, and she honored those close to her who had already passed by having her bridesmaids hold memorabilia instead of bouquets. Cicily lost both her parent when she was young, so one bridesmaid brought her mothers pearls and another bridesmaid brought her father’s cowboy boots. Even though they were having a non-denominal ceremony officiated by Cicily’s cousin, Chaney performed a traditional Jewish stomping of the glass, stomping on a Pabst blue ribbon glass, in honor of Cicily’s father, who was Jewish and loved PBR.
After the ceremony, Cicily and Chaney and their wedding party took photos in downtown Fredericksburg, before continuing on to 718 Venue, where they hosted a standing reception, complete with an appearance from Marshmellow Man himself. The bride and groom had Caroline Street Catering serve tasty apps and keep the drinks flowing, and their guests kept the party into the night!
